- COFTU elaborated innovative approaches in addition to the traditional approaches and strategies for heightening workers’ organisation into a formidable labour movement. After a due process, the COFTU founding principles were proclaimed and the constitution established.
- The constitution provided several revolutionary principles and structures.
- The Secretariat was established to conceptualise and begin the implementation of flagship programmes.
- On 21st February 2004, the COFTU Constitution was adopted and came into full force. 5. On 8th February 2006, the Ministry responsible for Labour certified, endorsed and recognized the Constitution.
