Aloikin Miriam Etiu is the Chairperson of the Women Executive Committee of the Central Organisation of Free Trade Unions (COFTU) Uganda. She is an experienced education leader, university lecturer, trade unionist, and advocate for workers' rights and gender equality, with over two decades of leadership and public service.

She holds a Master's degree in Ethics and Public Management and a Bachelor of Education from Makerere University. She has successfully completed the requirements for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Management at Makerere University and is awaiting graduation.

Throughout her career, she has served in senior leadership positions in Uganda's education sector and has actively promoted quality education, ethical leadership, girl child empowerment, and social justice. As Chairperson of the COFTU Women Executive Committee, she provides strategic leadership in advancing women's participation in trade unions, promoting decent work, advocating for gender-responsive labour policies, and strengthening the leadership capacity of women workers.

She is committed to building partnerships with national, regional, and international labour organizations, government institutions, employers, and civil society to advance workers' rights, gender equality, inclusive economic development, and sustainable social protection. Her vision is to foster a strong, united, and empowered women's trade union movement that contributes meaningfully to national development and the global labour agenda.
