Catherine is a Certified Public Accountant registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) (FM No. 2762) with more than 25 years’ experience in financial management, leadership, and compliance issues. She is passionate about driving business growth, optimizing financial processes, and regulatory compliance, as well as being skilled in financial analysis, budgeting, and team leadership, which she has exhibited through working on various projects, including international ones.
Currently, she is the General Secretary of Uganda Scientists, Researchers and Allied Workers Union (USRAWU) and serves as a Senior Accountant on the Makerere University Regional Centre for Crop Improvement (MaRCCI) Project (funded by the World Bank). She was also entrusted to head one of the biggest Colleges in Makerere University (COBAMS), where I served as a college bursar. She is a professional trainer with several women's organizations like Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE), National Association of Women Organizations in Uganda (NAWOU), where I served as Treasurer, Mothers Union, and many others.
As a General Secretary of USRAWU, she has joined tireless efforts with other labour rights advocates to ensure the world of work in this country is conducive for all.
She was awarded a Golden Jubilee medal on 1 May 2022 during the Labour Day celebrations for her exceptional work in serving workers diligently in the labour movement in Uganda.
